Meghan Markle "secretly flew economy to visit best friend"
BEFORE taking in the West End production of Hamilton with Prince Harry and Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meghan Markle secretly flew economy to Toronto to see her best friend, stylist Jessica Mulroney.
“Meghan spent three days holed up at Jessica Mulroney and her husband Ben’s home in Toronto,” ABC News royal contributor Omid Scobie revealed. “They spent their days catching up, cooking together and, of course, playing with Jessica’s children, who love their Aunty Meg.”
“There was one evening when Meghan and Jessica secretly headed out into the town to meet some of Meghan’s old, good friends,” Scobie added of Markle’s recent Toronto trip.
Mulroney, 38, and her daughter, Ivy, served as bridesmaids for the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex in the royal wedding in May, with Mulroney’s sons serving as page boys and carrying Markle’s train.
Markle and Mulroney first met when she moved to the Ontario city to film Suits in 2011 and have been inseparable ever since.
One trip the California-born royal isn’t eager to take, however, is to see her father, Thomas, in
Meghan and Thomas have been at odds ever since he was busted for making a deal with paparazzi ahead of the royal wedding (allegedly at the behest of Meghan’s half-sister Samantha), then flip-flopping over whether he’d be there to walk her down the aisle.
He ended up not attending, claiming he’d suffered a heart attack from the stress leading up to the big day.
Since then, he claims that Meghan has not been in contact with him at all and has given seemingly constant press interviews lamenting his fate and begging her to reach out.
According to Scobie, she hasn’t.
“There have been reports that Meghan was planning to secretly fly out to Mexico to spend time with her father,” Scobie said, “but right now she has absolutely no plans to see him.”
